Nine Awesome Songs By The Beatles
In this article you will find my selections for 9 of the hundreds of reasons to purchase The Beatles in Stereo Box Set which includes every single official Beatles recording released from 1962 through 1970 in remastered stereo.
You Never Give Me Your Money - I really don't understand why more people don't seem to mention this song when talking about The Beatles best work. Maybe I am strange but to me it's certainly one of the many highlights of Abbey Road.
A Day in the Life - What a perfect song. I can't even imagine anyone else besides the Beatles recording it.
Let It Be - "Let It Be" is such a brilliant song that even if this were just a list of the greatest songs all time by anyone it'd still be on the list!
Here, There, and Everywhere - I agree with McCartney himself that this is one of his greatest songs ever.
Yesterday - I don't care how many times it has been played, "Yesterday" is still a perfect song.
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - The psychedelic era of The Beatles is my personal favorite and this is probably their best known psychedelic song.
Revolution - This one just rocks! I much prefer the rock n roll single version over the slower White Album recording. Yes, it has its charm, but I think the faster version captures the spirit of the song better (regardless of what John thought!)
Something - Sinatra's "favorite Lennon/McCartney song" is by George Harrison!
Taxman - By 1966 George was writing great songs like John and Paul and "Taxman" may be his first song that can really be considered a classic.
If you want to listen to these brilliant songs as they were originally intended to be heard then you need to purchase The Beatles Mono Box Set.
