Daddy Yankee was born in 1977. He's also called El Jefe and El Cangri. He came into this world in San Juan, Puerto Rico and given its name Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez. He is a Latin Grammy Award winning Reggaeton recording artist. As he was growing up he was engaged and involved with the underground Reggaeton music revolution taking place in his native country Puerto Rico. He soon began to copy the styles of classical rap like DJ Goldy and DJ Playero. His very first presence was together with DJ Playero in a 1992 production Playero 37 but went on to create his own rhythm and style and became among the first music artists to be a performed of Reggaeton.

His first solo album introduced was No Mercy and after that he formed a duo with Nicky Jam. He then went solo once again with the launch of albums El Cartell and El Cartell II then he became to be known as one of the Reggaeton pioneers and was sometimes called Papi Vaguero.
