Comments About The Rumors Surrounding Al Gomes

by Lena Cervantes

It is obvious; Al Gomes knows how to spread the word about himself and his talents on the internet. From one website to another, his accomplishments are listed. Even Wikipedia has a page about him.

Gomes founded the company Big Noise in 1990 to help independent artists break into the music industry. Some blogs claim that this company is willing to provide guidance to newly signed musicians by helping them with art direction and distribution of their records. And these are very complimentary.

In addition, accusations concerning his honesty have come into question. Many wonder if he did, in fact, work with Christina Aguilera, Little Anthony and Andrew MacCarthy. One has to wonder if some of these statements could in part be true, and yet so many people are convinced that these nothing more than well spun falsehood. What ever the facts eventually prove to be, one thing is for certain. Gomes and all who work for him are crafty media manipulators.

Al Gomes started The Band Wagon Project. This is a music-based charity. It has been very successful, and has brought in a considerable amount of money for groups working for the homeless. In addition, he is also marketing his song Three Sides to Hunger, which was written for the benefit.

And yet, even with his humanitarian efforts, rumors circulate. It doesn't totally make sense. However, there are some warning signs as to whether or not a company is legitimate or not. Disreputable companies usually do two things. First they play to the artist's ego. And secondly, they want their money. And apparently, from what people are saying, Big Noise has been responsible for doing both.

Be on guard of any company or agent who simply says, 'Your music is great', or 'it sounds wonderful'. If they are legitimate, they will say more than that. It is difficult to become famous, and every good agent knows this.

Be wary if they ask you to send money. Real managers and agents receive a commission off the music sales. If the music artist is successful, they are also.

Do not be afraid to pepper them with questions. Be tough, and ask about everything. A trustworthy company will tell you everything upfront, nothing will be hidden. A dishonest one will have sufficient answers and may get upset if you persist in asking questions they cannot answer.

With all the information out there, it looks like everyone will have to judge for themselves as to whether Big Noise is a total scam operation, or whether this is a media ploy to direct more attention to Al Gomes. The only person who knows for sure is Mr. Gomes.
